It’s a rainy Sunday morning and I am typing this while chilling on the sofa with a cup of coffee on the side. Apart from my fingers, everything hurts. Every tiny move echoes with muscle pain (read ‘muscle happiness’) reminding me that there about 656 to 850 muscles in the human body – with the help of Zova fitness app for women that makes working out an easy part of your daily routine.
Coming from the sunny shores of Australia, the app is designed exclusively for women and stands out from all the other health and fitness apps out there. I’m very proud to have been with Zova from the start as the app’s and community’s ambassador in the UK and have seen how it evolved to make the best workout experience for women.
The Zova team, in conjunction with the Ambassadors, exercise and lifestyle professionals, has developed a comprehensive selection of exercise programs that combine custom-made music with exercise science to achieve better results.
When you open the app, it suggests workouts based on factors like time of day, weather, and location. You can click on your workout stream, and follow immediately, visual and vocal cues, along with music and rhythm that will help you. You can then search for the exercise you want, selecting the body area you want to train (Any, Full, Lower, Upper, Core), type of workout (Any, Bodyweight, Gym, Equipment), your ability (Any, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) and proceed to the workout page.
To start the selected workout, simply watch the videos – which first give you a preview of each exercise delivered by Zova ambassador – and follow it through! The workouts are developed with attention to detail and fitness knowledge – they even have ‘rest’ built into the session when you can hydrate and catch your breath.
The music and rhythm are one of the counterpoints of Zova app. Having realised that certain fitness moves paired with musical rhythms at the right time could lead to an incredibly effective and improved workout, Zova co-founder Niall McCarthy teamed up with music and media producer James Tonkin to create exclusive music and rhythm to become an integral part of Zova workouts. I personally find it extremely helpful that I can carry on with my exercise following the rhythm Zova offers, as opposed to having to stop my workout and keep scrolling down my music library to find the right type of song for my squats or lunges.
With the variety of exercises available you will never be short of ideas and, most importantly, can squeeze in an exercise session no matter where you are. Being in-between gyms right now I exercise every other day at home and do not miss an opportunity to do it outdoors when I am travelling. So, really, no excuses! Zova app also has Apple Health integration being one of 14 apps being featured on Apple Health App Store page.
