When You Are Allowed To Be A Hot Mess At lululemon San Francisco & Baptiste Yoga Class
When I was walking up to the Baptiste Yoga studio nested in the beautiful surroundings of Presidio, for a hot yoga class to mark the launch of Perfectly Imperfect book by lululemon Global Yoga Ambassador Baron Baptiste, I was expecting to sweat. One hour and a couple of thousand burnt calories later, I was a true hot mess - sweaty and with makeup allover my face - and truly embraced how it feels to be 'Perfectly Imperfect'. ;)
Baptiste Yoga
Located in Mesa Street in Presidio surrounded by pines, cypresses and eucalyptuses, Baptiste Yoga studio opened the doors in this location around 6 months ago. Tricky to get to if you live on the other side of town (Uber/Lyft will get you there though), it's absolutely worth the effort as the beautiful setting puts you in the right mindset for the yoga practice.
Baptiste Yoga was founded in the 1940′s by Walt Baptiste and through his son Baron (a lululemon Global Yoga Ambassador who released his book Perfectly Imperfect earlier this May), with practice and programs designed to empower you mentally and physically. The hot yoga class was what must have been the most intense, challenging and sweaty class I've ever attended - with a very dynamic flow, challenging asanas, including inversions and balancing practice, and LOTS of sweating. The yoga class put my new lululemon yoga mat to test (which the mat successfully survived!)
The Perfectly Imperfect Book
The yoga class was organised by lululemon San Francisco as a part of their local community events - in this case to celebrate the launch of Perfectly Imperfect book. In the book, Baron Baptiste shares his insights of how transformative yoga became for him once he began to practice asking the question “now what?” Creating postures has been only part of the journey, once in the posture a whole world opens up. This book is for anyone who lands in a “pose” and wonders what they should do next (on the bigger scale of things).
lululemon San Francisco community
This yoga class has been the first lululemon San Francisco community class I attended. If you are looking to connect with likeminded people and make new friends, whether you are a newbie or an experienced yogi, you will enjoy the positive vibes and friendliness and openness of the people who come to lululemon community classes.
